I’ve added some icons to the event guide to show some standard information, such as whether a venue is wheelchair accessible or has free parking. Not all of the events have this information available, as the submission form has only recently been updated to include it and I haven’t had time to go back over older additions and make sure that they all have this data flagged where appropriate, so please check the individual entries and organisers’ websites for the definitive answer.
Hopefully, as we move into adding events for next year, the majority of them will have this information available in a simple visual form.
I’ve added my photos from the MMRS 2007 exhibition to the gallery. I have to say, though, that they’re not as good as the ones on the RMWeb Manchester thread!
If you’ve read earlier blog entries, you’ll know that a few months ago we had to take a lot of entries offline while we verified their content as part of a major data cleanup. That’s now mostly complete, and the newly verified entries are now available again.
However, during that time, a bug in our submission system meant that many newly added entries were incorrectly being flagged as old, unverified entries rather than new submissions. The bug has now been fixed, and all the affected entries have been released. Unfortunately, some of them were for exhibitions in August and early September, and so they never got to be published before the event had taken place.
All we can do is apologise, and promise that it won’t happen again. The programmer responsible for the bug will be forced to do penance, just as soon as we can come up with a suitably appropriate punishment.
I’ve replaced the original gallery system, based on Gallery2, with a new one using a modified form of Zen Gallery. It seems a bit more stable, and easier to configure, than the old one.
The downside is that all the captions have gone. I might get round to re-captioning all the photos eventually, but it may take a while!
The gallery is broken again. Hopefully, it will be back online soon, but it may be a few days.
There’s now an “about/FAQ” page, giving contact details as well as answering the most frequently asked questions about the site.
