The Norwood Model Railway Club was founded in 1946, meeting in the crypt of St. Luke's Church, West Norwood. We now have our own compact clubroom near Streatham Common, where we meet on Tuesday evenings.
We are currently working on layouts in S4 gauge, OO universal and N, while the larger scales (up to gauge 1) are catered for by mainly exterior running tracks. We have continuous test tracks in four gauges, perfect for those who just want to watch the trains go by.
Between them, the layouts represent more than 100 years of railway history, and offer members the chance to practise many different skills and techniques. The club has a number of experienced members who are always ready to air their knowledge of both modelling and research.
A library of over 250 books is supplemented by books and research material in individual members collections. We also possess thousands of articles culled from 50 years worth of publications, which are being indexed on a computerised database.
Visitors are always welcome at our clubroom. Please introduce yourself if you see us at an exhibition, or contact the Honorary Secretary for more details.
