This year celebrates the 9th year of the Large Scale Model Rail Exhibition which continues to go from strength to strength and is regarded as one of the leading specialist model rail exhibitions in the UK. The exhibition attracts well over 2,000 enthusiasts from all over the UK and Europe and the organisers are looking forward to presenting another interesting exhibition with some new layouts on show.

2010 will see the exhibition move forward to the 20th & 21st March and it is hoped that with the move to this more convenient time away from Easter more suppliers will be able to attend giving visitors even more choice and showcasing the latest products.

Again numerous layouts will be on display covering all the larger scales with major layouts being presented by the Gauge 1 Model Railway Association, G Scale Association and the 16mm Association.

There will also be favourite layouts returning including: Vintage Gauge 1 Tinplate Trains presented by Dave Orchard and Keith Whitworth and members of G1MRA which features toy trains and accessories from the first 30 years of the 20th century and Newchapel Junction; a finescale 'O' Gauge layout representing the Post Grouping period and based on an area near Yeovil where the SR and GWR ran together.

This year also sees the welcome return of: Seabury Town & Preservation Society presented by Mike Renwick. Seabury Town is a fictitious location based on a L.M.S. theme. It was also decided to make it a Preservation Society, as this would allow other club members to run stock on it. All stock was built from kits or bought second hand and refurbished, the buildings are based on actual prototypes - the station being a copy of Darley Dale and the goods shed is a copy of one at Eckington.

This exhibition is supported by over 30 suppliers. Visitors will see live steam model locomotives hauling coaches and wagons - the real thing in miniature.
