B17 arrives at Dapol
We are pleased to be able to show you the 'first shot' of our upcoming B17 locomotive. 'First shot' means literally the first moulding to come from the tooling, and is produced to get a 'feel' for the look of the locomotive and gives us ample opportunity to add detail and change things as necessary.
Please remember that the lack of detail isn't indicative of how the finished product will look, and is viewed in these pictures fitted to a plastic 'proof' chassis, and not a production one.
As some of the B17's had a Westinghouse brake cylinder fitted for some of their lives, we have tooled for this feature to be added to some of the models we intend to produce.
This locomotive will come fitted with Dapol's very own brand new 5 pole skew wound motor, DCC Ready, RP25.57 darkened wheels and valve gear, and is on target for release in the first half of this year.
We intend to have this plus some other relevant 'goodies' on display at ModelRail Scotland on Feb 22nd to 24th inclusive.
