Ixion Manor steams into View
As you are no doubt aware, the 'cat is out of the bag' with regards to Ixions new locomotive, which is a 'Manor' class 4-6-0 tender locomotive.
We at Dapol had the pleasure of the company of one of the directors of Ixion Model Railways , Mr. Chris Klein on our stand this last weekend for the official launch of the model. http://www.ixionmodels.com

Mr Klein was able to answer a whole range of questions regarding this first locomotive and other projects that Ixion are considering for loco number 2.
Also on view was a hand built engineering prototype to show something tangible, however the model was to test the engineering principles involved and was overscale in both body and tender and lacked detail, and should not be used as an indication of the finished model.

Further to the official launch you can now order your engine / engines online via our secure N gauge shop by clicking on the Ixion section and choosing a loco. You will not have your credit card or debit card debited except for a £10.00 holding deposit which secures your order, until the week before the locomotive is ready for dispatch when we will debit the balance of the order for delivery week commencing 15th september 2008 as it will be formally launched as a complete RTR model at the International N gauge show at Leamington Spa on 13th and 14th September.

If you wish to find out individual details please just click on the 'find out more' highlighted section.
We have posted here pictures from the CAD/CAM file of the model for your viewing. Please note that it is almost complete and only needs a small amount of adjustment before metal cutting begins, including the connecting rods, whistle shroud and sanding lever.

This model is the highest specification N gauge steam locomotive to date, as well as easily being the most detailed model to appear thus far.
Features of the 'Manor' at the time of this posting include;
